Privacy Policy
Effective July 2, 2026
What we collect
Snapjar is built to need very little:
- Album details. The event name and, if given, the host's display name.
- Photos. Whatever guests upload to an album, plus the optional name they type next to their uploads.
- A guest session. Everyone gets an anonymous technical identifier so uploads can be tied to the person who made them (that's how you can delete your own photo). No name, email, or phone number is required to use an album.
- Account details, only if you create an account. Your email address, or your Google account's email if you sign in with Google. Accounts are optional.
- Payment records. Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We see that a payment happened and which album it was for.
- Basic analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use. If your browser blocks it, the site works exactly the same.
What we do with it
We host your photos and show them to people who have your album's link or QR code. That's the complete list. Specifically, we do not:
- Sell or share your data or photos with anyone
- Use your photos for advertising, marketing, or promotional material
- Use your photos to train AI models
- Browse, scan, or analyze the contents of your albums
Who can see your photos
Anyone with your album's link or QR code can view the album and add photos. Album codes are random and unguessable, albums are never listed publicly, and we tell search engines not to index them. Treat the link like you'd treat the photos: share it with the people you want in the album.
Where your data lives
Photos and album data are stored on Google Firebase servers. Payments run on Stripe. Both are large, audited providers with their own strong security and privacy practices.
Deleting things
- A photo: the person who uploaded it, or the album's host, can delete it from the album any time.
- An album: the host can delete their album from the My Albums page. That removes it for everyone immediately.
- Your account: delete it any time in Settings.
- Everything, thoroughly: email us and we'll wipe whatever you need gone, usually within a couple of days.
Children
Snapjar isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. Photos taken at family events are uploaded by adults who are responsible for having permission to share them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and note it plainly. We won't quietly weaken it.
